What to Do: Your Package was Left in the Mailroom – Amazon Delivery
Did Amazon claim to deliver you a package but you could not find it? The Amazon tracking states “your package was left in the mail room.” however, you do not have a mail room at your residence.
Per Amazon, here is further clarification on what a mail room can be.
*Leasing Agent or Office (If you live in condo or apartment building)
*Physical mail room located at the address of the shipment
*Your package was left in or around your mailbox.
Additional Information Amazon suggests doing before contacting them.
*Verify Shipping Address
*Look for notice of attempted delivery
*Look around delivery location
*See if someone else accepted the delivery
*Check your mailbox again
*Wait an additional 36 hours to see if package arrives or turns up
If all else fails, follow the steps to contact Amazon who will either offer you credit with upgraded fast delivery of the same item or re-ship the item at no cost (If it is an Amazon distributer product)
- Login to Amazon with your account you placed the order with.
- Go here and choose the product form your list of orders as shown. Then choose this order: An order I placed -> problem with an order -> missing item or parts -> products or accessories missing. Finally, choose phone to contact an Amazon associate.
- The Amazon associate will recommend first taking the steps mentioned above. If you did not receive your product, Amazon should offer you a credit back to your credit card for the lost item or in the form of an Amazon gift card. Amazon will say you can order the item again and they will next day ship it. You will have to place your order online again before they can upgrade the shipment.
With little questions asked by the Amazon associate, Amazon’s excellent customer support turned an upsetting situation into a delightful hassle free solution!
