Fix: The Connection Has Not Been Restored - Windows

If you have a mapped network drive in Windows and you click it, you may receive a message that the drive connection was lost or disconnected and the connection has not been restored yet.

Restoring Network Connections

An error occurred while reconnecting to “”

Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use.

This connection has not been restored.

This error happens when the network drive you mapped is no longer reachable. Windows attempts to reconnect the network drive, but you will receive this message if you double-click the same drive path. You will need to restore the network drive location.
