When you try to check-in a SharePoint Excel document, you receive an error that prevents you from fully checking in.

First, check to make sure the document you created is not using any disallowed characters in the name.

If you are trying to save an Excel document with a password, try saving it without a password first.

Some users have find that an older document may have over 510 minor version edits which is a SharePoint limit. Publish a new major version instead and check-in the document.
