Fix: Boot Camp Assistant – External storage device Attached (Even though disk is unmounted)

While using Boot Camp Assistant, you receive a message to disconnect external storage devices before proceeding.

 

Please remove any external storage device attached to this system before continuing.

 





If you only unmounted your storage disk, you will also have to physically disconnect the storage disk from your computer so it does not show up as a connected disk in Disk Utility.
