Fix: Received an Unexpected Response from the Device – iTunes
When you plug in your iOS device to your computer and open iTunes, you receive an unexpected response from the device message. This message may occur in the following situations.
*You accidently disconnected your device in the middle of an iTunes sync.
*Your iOS device cable is being moved around while plugged causing the data between your devices to be interrupted.
*An iOS update or sync failed to complete and the message appears.
- End all apps on your iOS device and reboot it.
- Reboot your computer with iTunes.
- Plug back in your iOS device to your computer and see if the error still appears.
If the above steps fail, it’s time to replace your iOS USB cable and or try a different USB port on your computer.
