Fix: Windows Cannot Access the Specified Device Path or File You May Not Have Appropriate Permissions

You may receive the following error message in Windows while trying to access a device, path, or file.

Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

More than likely, your Domain Administrator has made changes to your account permissions that are now restricting you from accessing a folder or file. Check with your administrator to see if your Windows account permission were modified in Active Directory or your local account permissions were modified.
