Why: Messages in iCloud is Currently Disabled (Repair Account)

Are you noticing a message at the bottom of your iMessage screen about iCloud messages being disabled?

Messages in iCloud is currently disabled

Repair Account

If you click Repair Account in the message, nothing seems to happen…

The message seems to be appearing in the latest iOS update – 11.3. It appears to be a bug.

If you are receiving this message, please use the comment form below to let us know and any steps you did to repair your account.

I’m getting the same thing and it happened right after I did a update. I tried a few things and nothing has helped it

I’m also getting the message that my messages on iCloud is disabled. I signed out of my iCloud, then restarted my phone and then signed back in but I’m still getting the same stupid message. I need to have the messages available as that’s the only way I am able to keep in touch with some of my family. FIX THIS ASAP

Fix the problem on my iPhone X by
-Turning off the iMessage option under Messages in Settings
-reboot your iPhone
-Message will disappeared!

DID NOT HAVE TO sign out of iCloud. Would be interesting to see if a reboot is even needed, but I don't have the issue anymore and cant test that fix...

Good luck

Before I noticed the warning that messages are disabled from the iCloud, I noted that on some of my devices that the message history for some of my contacts had disapeared. Then I saw the ‘message disabled from iCloud’ and wondered if the missing histories might be the reason for the warning. I’ve seen several solutions on how to get rid of the warning and here is the one I followed. While in messages, hold down the down volume button and immediately follow this by simultaneously holding down the power button. Allow the forced shutdown to occur and boot back up. After doing so, the warning disaappeared and, voila, the missing message histories for my contacts re-appeared. I then did the same thing with my other devices with the same results.

there is no way I'll be updating my phone again, i can't believe this problem - and there seems to be no help from apple - are they just hoping that one of their customers is going to come up with a solution - it's incredibly annoying and I just wish I hadn't bothered updating and that I hadn't bought an iphone

same problem here; reading the thread it seems like a problem that's not a problem---really. I'll wait for the fix. No problems noted in sending or receiving messages..

Same problem with my iPhone. I tried to go in settings > icloud to see what happened, all is like usual except that "Messages" disappeared from the list "apps using icloud".
