Fix: Some Files Can Harm Your Computer - SharePoint
While trying to open a SharePoint document, you may receive the following warning message.
Some files can harm your computer. If the file information below looks suspicious, or your do not fully trust the source, do not open the file.

You will need to add the SharePoint site you are on to IE Trusted Sites. To do this, open Internet Explorer and go to Internet Options -> Security -> Local Intranet -> click on sites -> Advanced -> add the website to the zone.
The message is likely due to browser incompatibility in IE8 or earlier. Check the documented fix by Microsoft Technet here.
