Facebook - Some Important Updates and Settings to Review
The next time you open the Facebook app, you will be presented with the new Terms, Data Policy and Cookies Policy. Facebook is now letting you know what personal information they are currently collecting and sharing from your Facebook profile. It allows you to immediately change these settings as you read through the terms and conditions. At the end, you must accept the terms in order to continue using the app. Here’s what the new terms look like.
Some important settings and updates to review
We want to give you an opportunity to review some of the ways we use your data to make your experience on Facebook more personalized. Here’s what you can review and make choices.

Your Profile Information
You decide what profile information you share with others.
When you add information to your profile, you can choose who you want to share it with on Facebook. Some of the information you can add to your profile may be sensitive to you, including your religious views, your political views and whether you’re interested in men or women.
Because you’ve added some of this information to your profile, we want you to review it and decide if you want to keep it remove it. To do this, manage your data settings. Otherwise we’ll continue to use this data.
What kinds of data might we collect?
We allow you to add your religious views, political views and whether you’re interested in men or women if you want to share this about yourself and so the people you want can see it.
How do we use this data?
This information will be visible on your profile to the people you choose. We’ll use it to personalize features and products, such as suggesting related Facebook groups or pages.
You can choose to remove this information from your profile.
To control the information you’ve added to your profile, manage your data settings. Otherwise we’ll continue to show the personal information you’ve added to your profile to the people you’ve chosen.
Review our updated Terms, Data Policy and Cookies Policy
We’ve updated our Terms, Data Policy, and Cookies Policy to make sure you know how your data is used so you can make the choices that are right for you. By continuing to use Facebook, you are accepting our updates which go into effect on July 14.
We’ve made it easier for you to control your data, privacy and security settings in one place, which you can do any time in Settings. Our Terms better explain our service and what we ask of everyone using Facebook. Our Data Policy and Cookies Policy reflect the new features we’ve been working on, and explain more about how we create a personalized experience of you. Updates include:
*Adding information about features such as Marketplace, camera effects and accessibility tools.
*More detail about how our systems process things you share, such as text, photos and videos
*More about how we share information, systems and technology across the Facebook Company Products, including WhatsApp, Instagram and Oculus
*Adding Instagram, a service provided by Facebook Inc., to the Data Policy
You can go to your settings any time to make choices about your data, or to see other options if you don’t want to accept the Terms, Data Policy and Cookies Policy.
