Ex ITT student here. The department of Education forgave all loans for ex ITT students for predatory practices. I just received a refund of every payment I made in the past 8 years but instead of one lump sum, they refunded every payment individually. Now my bank locked my account due to suspicious activity lol. But hey, I no longer have debt!

I just received 19 individual payments from the Department of Education. I attended ITT Tech, did not finish my program, and left the same time they were being sued in 2014. I tried to pursue forgiveness 7 years ago when I learned you aren't liable for government loans if your school is deemed to be fraudulent, but just got a runaround. What's confusing to me is I paid off all my loans in February of this year and didn't think they would refund me. Not complaining!

I'm curious, Chria, did you complete your program at ITT? You mentioned that you've been repaying your loans for the past 8 years, so I would assume you did, but I want to be sure, as I am also a former student at ITT.

I just got that in my account today for the amount of the student loan I paid for fall and winter quarter. I have no idea if I need to pay it back or not or who to contact about this. If anyone knows please reply.

It's a refund due to the payments you made during the covid19 suspension. You didn't have to pay and no interest will accrue during the government sanctioned suspension. Those non-payments will count towards your forgiveness number of payments if you are enrolled in any program.

My student loans were recently forgiven from the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, and I got 21 of these credits in my account today, which I assume to be overpayment based on my original eligibility date.

I recieved 2 different small amounts with this description on my bank account? I'm not sure what the deposits are. I filed taxes and paid off student loans recently so maybe it has something to do with that but not sure at all.
