Fix: The Login is from an Untrusted Domain and Cannot be Used with Windows Authentication 18452 – SQL

You receive the following error trying to make a connection to a Microsoft SQL Server

Cannot connect to “”

Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18452)

Ensure your Active Directory controller is online and accepting authenticated connections. In addition, verify your Windows hosts file has correct entries for localhost as show below.

127.0.0.1   localhost
127.0.0.1   localhost   customname
