Fix: iPhone Voicemail Saying It’s Full, But It’s Not – Verizon
Are people trying to leave you voicemails to your iPhone but they receive a message the voice mailbox is full? When you go to check your visual voicemails, you don’t show any voicemails, including deleted. Perform the steps below to see if your voicemail box needs to be reset.
- Login to your voicemail using touch tone. Dial *86 on your iPhone and enter your voicemail password pin.
Note: If you do not remember your voicemail pin password, call Verizon. They will be able to reset your voicemail password.
- Once you access your voicemail, press 1. Then press the star key (*) 3 times. Your iPhone will immediately hang-up and this will reset your voicemailbox. If this does not resolve your issue, call Verizon and ask them to reset your voicemail box.

For iPhone, go to deleted voice messages and CLEAR ALL. This worked for me when *86 did not.
Had to go in and manually delete all my VM as suggested by another user.
In addition, I discovered VM that had never showed up on my phone! Disappointed with this poor level of service, they’re expensive.
This trick didn't work for me. So I went into *86 and manually deleted all my voicemail messages. It worked after that. Didn't have to contact Verizon. Most of the messages I had were blocked robo callers that fill up my vm box. It might take you a little bit to do but manual deleting worked!
After "chatting" with 3 agents today for a total of 3 hours, I tried googling the problem. I tried the *86 to access voicemail 1*** several times. Problem is still not resolved. Reluctant to contact Verizon again, because they keep timing me out, although I'm on an active "chat!" Wish I could talk to a real person.
Fantastic!! It worked - thank you!
