That is STUPID. Are You sure? Why would my Credit Rating go down when a Store is filing Bankruptcy? It has "nothing" to do with Me. It just does not make any sense!!?

It will have an impact in some way. If this card was one of your "older accounts", your average credit rating history the bureaus will be averaged down and will affect your score. If you have credit debt, your total credit pool will be reduced (from all your credit accounts) and your debt to credit ratio will increase and factor into your overall credit score. Depending on the scenario, it can have a small or bigger effect on your credit rating. unfortunately, this is the risk you take when signing up for a new credit card.

This also happened when Costco decided to cancel their American Express card (although they replaced the card but the older account was closed). https://becomethesolution.com/news/american-express-coscto-canceling-and-applying-new-card
