A Website Pre-Launch Checklist Details
Before launching a new website, it’s absolutely important you take careful consideration to the various components of your site functionality. This checklist of tasks will guide a webmaster to fulfilling an efficient website launch.

Links
Test all your internal and outbound links. Any broken links should be addressed before you launch your site. Joomla has a redirect plugin that will build a database of any broken “redirect” links coming back to your website. Wordpress has a plugin similar called “broken link checker”.

W3C
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community where Member organizations, a full-time staff, and the public work together to develop Web standards. Ensuring your website is complaint with W3C is important when search engines consider your website. The organization's purpose is to develop open standards so that the Web evolves in a single direction rather than being splintered among competing factions.

Your SEO
Verify your meta descriptions and meta keywords are set on pages of your website. This includes your long tail keywords. You can submit your website to Bing & Google webmaster tools ahead of time. Ensure your sitemap is to-date and accessible for search engines to index. Ensure your robots.txt file is allowing the pages you want indexed from search engines. Remember to review the benefits of email marketing

Correct 404 Pages
A good practice is to redirect 404 pages back to your homepage. Having a broken link my leak into search engines and provide poor insight your organic search results.

Legal Pages
Have a privacy policy, terms and conditions disclaimer. Privacy policies explain to the site users and customers how their information will be used. One of the main reasons a website needs a privacy policy page is to disclose the owner's intent. Don’t get caught not having one! Google recognizes these on websites.

Page Load Speed
There are numerous websites that test the desktop and mobile versions of your website. These sites provide feedback including pagespeed scores, yslow scores, gzip optimization, image compression, and more. You can even specify your test server region and test load times from across the globes. GTmetrix is a good tool for this.

Contact Page
Remember to have one paged dedicated for your community to contact you. No contact page might reveal a lack of professionalism and credibility of a website. A way for users to engage back with your website is always important.
