Facebook: This Attachment May Have Been Removed or the Person Who Shared It
In the Facebook App, you may receive a private message that contains an attachment. When you click on the notification of a new private message with the attachment, you see a message that the user who sent the attachment is now unavailable.

This attachment may have been removed or the person who shared it may not have permission to share it with you.
A shared picture/attachment may become unavailable if the original poster removes it or changes the privacy settings on it. Facebook also reserves the right to remove the shared attachment without notice, and you will see the message above. The user also can control privacy settings of the photo and in order for all to see it, it needs to be set to “Public”. This would be the case if the attachment was sent to a group in a Facebook message.

How do I fix this . My husband tries to forward a link and I can’t open . I just see message that says This attachment may have been removed or the person who shared it may not have permission to share it with you
I jave not been able to open messamger attachments since my last fb update. Attachments have not been roved or blocked these are public most are comimg from internet. Please fix.
i have this page that i manage and every time there is someone trying to click the "send message" button in a page post, it was sent to the page inbox but says "attachment unavailable".I am 100% sure that all our page post are set in public. I find it annoying because i can't see what product they are interested with. How can i fix this? Thank you in advance.

The Facebook atheists are also removing Christian links I’m sharing with friends through Messenger, which is not public, so this just proves how Anti-Christian they are. So sad - they have no idea of God’s love.
I hear you....although something considered 'inspirational 'messages don't get cencored the same BUT MAAAAANY legitimate, factual and scientifically proven videos I have researched thoroughly before posting about the DEEP TRUTH' are getting removed because the mass media doesn't want anyone knowing the truth. Sooooo very very sad that people are walking around trusting the wrong people who are destroying their lives..
I have been seeing alot of this = mostly around shares with a political slant - evidently FB doesn't like what some of us are sharing!

I send the files but I deleted the whole conversation? And the receiver gets the attachment unavailable notification how can we get it again?

I am getting this on every third post several days after having posted a share. It never happened before, something is wrong in system. I had to delete the post as I could not find to re-post.
